Service Stations in Finland with
LNG stations in Finland in
The Ministry of Transport and Communications has carried out a project on the future of road mobility in Finland and came to the conclusion that climate change mitigation in Finland also requires a radical reduction of CO2 emissions from transport, which can be achieved , among other things, by almost completely abandoning fossil fuels in domestic transportation by 2050.
In the different projects established in Finland for the establishment of a network of LNG service stations, as a fundamental piece in the decarbonization of heavy transport, the use of LNG is always established as an intermediate step until the implementation of Liquefied Biogas, LBG, the renewable gas for transport that can be produced from various sources. The raw materials of renewable gas are usually domestic and decentralized production, which increases employment at the local level.
The objective of the plan for the refueling network of Liquefied Natural Gas in Finland for 2030 is to have 26 service stations that supply LNG to heavy vehicles that circulate on the country's roads.
