The development of the road freight transportation market in Russia to meet the growing demand for the movement of industrial products is one of the most urgent tasks today. The Russian Government believes that its solution can be taken to a new level through wider use of modern and economical fuels. One of the most promising areas of government initiatives in this area is the development of a network of LNG refueling stations.

One of the main factors limiting the development of road transport in Russia is the high cost of long-distance transportation for small and medium-sized businesses, whose participation in the structure of road freight transport is expected to play a decisive role. A relevant solution to this problem is the development of infrastructure for the use of economical fuels that increase the autonomy of freight transportation without refueling. These requirements are fully met by LNG, whose use as fuel is widespread in Russia with a high volume of road freight traffic.

As already noted, the only major obstacle to the active spread of LNG use is the low number of filling stations considering the size of Russia. However, significant progress has been made in this area in recent years. The main players in the fuel market have begun to seriously address the problem, realizing that the development of LNG refueling facilities is an important component of the development of the passenger and freight transport market in Russia.
