Service Stations in Greece with
LNG stations in Greece in
Greece's confidence in natural gas as a transition fuel is an example in Europe for the effectiveness with which the economy has adapted to the necessary changes and has proven to be a valuable learning experience.
The case of Liquefied Natural Gas is an example of how a country can adapt quickly, and with effort, to the new needs that arise from the obligation to reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
The Greek commitment to LNG since the early 1990s has been based on a combination of energy and climate change policy, in which gas is considered a transitional fuel, and geopolitical aspirations, according to which successive Governments have planned to position Greece as the energy center of southeastern Europe.
The network of service stations that can offer LNG is still in the early stages of its development, although with important projects to create a supply network that will soon make the use of LNG viable in the country's transportation.
