alternative fuel prices in Africa

Natural gas is a clean and safe fuel that can save you money at the pump, while also benefiting the environment and reducing Africa's dependence on oil. It is a naturally occurring mixture of gaseous, non-gaseous, and non-hydrocarbon gaseous hydrocarbons found in underground reservoir rocks, either alone (non-associated gas) or associated with crude oil (associated gas). Natural gas is accepted today as one of the best sources of energy for Africa and for the future because of its environmentally friendly nature compared to other types of fossil fuels. Nigeria is the seventh country in the world with the most natural gas reserves and the first in Africa, since it has some one hundred and eighty-eight trillion cubic feet of natural gas deposits.
Today, CNG is gradually being recognized as one of the most viable alternative fuel options. Being a much cleaner fuel source, its greater portability and lower cost have made it very popular as a transportation fuel. Currently, CNG is used more and more in public transport. For example, many African cities have made the use of CNG in public transport compulsory, which has meant a considerable reduction in pollution. In the past, due to the need for heavy and bulky tanks, the use of CNG in small vehicles was not widespread. However, this has advanced considerably in the last decade thanks to the development of lightweight high-pressure storage cylinders.
But the development of CNG in Africa is still scarce, as a matter of development, governments should ensure a legal and regulatory framework that covers the technical and commercial aspects of the use of natural gas in Africa. It is worth noting the aspect of gas collection and its transmission/distribution, which will further promote the installation of CNG refueling stations that will serve the large fleet of natural gas vehicles that is expected.
CNG is already offered in many African countries at more competitive prices than traditional fuels
