In Poland, the evaluation of CNG by users, even more if the use of biomethane is increased, is very positive. CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) is natural gas, whose main component is methane. This fuel is gaining more and more importance in the global volume of fuels for transportation, not only because of its lower price compared to other fuels, the use of natural gas with a high methane content allows a significant reduction in the emission of harmful compounds. , compared to petroleum-derived fuels. The use of CNG fuel has also almost completely eliminated the emission of particles, important for its harmful properties for health.

An important factor limiting the development of the CNG market in Poland is not only the small number of stations, but also the small number of users of natural gas vehicles: currently around 3,000 users. Currently, the most serious group of CNG users are the companies that transport people in the cities, mostly medium-sized ones. Among the 320 CNG buses running in 16 Polish cities, the largest fleet of 70 buses runs in Rzeszów, a little less in Tychy: 46, 37 in Radom, 30 in Zamość, 25 in Tarnów

The economic and environmental factors as well as the diversification of fuels speak in favor of the use of CNG as fuel. In studies carried out between 2008 and 2012, the average price of diesel for the entire period was 193.01 PLN, and CNG 123.22 PLN. This saves us PLN 69.79, or 36.15% savings for using CNG. Another study established that the use of two CNG buses 200,000 km per year results in a reduction in emissions of harmful substances by 32.8 tons. Another benefit for the environment is that the sound level is lower.

Given its geographical location, the use of CNG vehicles in Poland would cause significant economic savings because the price of CNG in Poland is traditionally cheaper than traditional fuels.
