LPG price in India in
When a country the size of India launches a formidable clean transport campaign with staggeringly ambitious targets, the world takes note and watches. The Government of India supplies LPG to vehicles through, essentially, three LPG distributors: Indian Oil Corporation Limited(IOC), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited(HPLC) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited(BPCL).
In order to rapidly increase automotive LPG penetration across the country, the Government of India created the new guidelines for selection of LPG distributors in June 2016. According to these revised norms, new dealers were invited to contact any of the Indian LPG marketers to rapidly expand the number of Autogas filling stations in rural and remote areas.
Fuel economy (running cost/km) is a primary factor affecting the vehicle purchase decision in India. A cost calculation based on the MDRA survey clearly shows that the payback period for an LPG vehicle is less than one year, compared to 3 years for diesel.
Due to the Government of India's strong commitment to automotive LPG, the price of LPG is much cheaper than other fuels available in the Indian market.
