Hydrogen price in Turkey in
Turkey plans to increase the number of hydrogen filling stations in the coming years as part of its efforts to reduce carbon emissions and encourage the use of renewable energy sources.
As of 2021, there were only two operational hydrogen stations in Turkey, located in Istanbul and Ankara, but they were not open to the public. However, the Turkish government has announced plans to build more hydrogen stations across the country, including cities like Izmir, Bursa and Konya.
One of the main projects on the hydrogen roadmap in Turkey is the H2 Anatolia Project, which aims to establish a network of hydrogen refueling stations along the country's main transport corridors. This project is supported by the European Union and is expected to lead to the construction of at least 10 new hydrogen refueling stations by 2023.
The price of hydrogen produced from natural gas by steam methane reforming is about 4-5 Turkish Lira (approximately 0.5-0.6 USD) per kilogram, a relatively low price compared to other countries.
