Skoda Kamiq CNG Compressed Natural Gas
Small utility vehicles are increasingly becoming bestsellers. The basic recipe is often the same and they generally end up being quite similar. So why choose the Skoda Kamiq over a Seat Arona or Volkswagen T-Cross, two models that use the same basic fundamentals? Well, it's big by small SUV standards.
It has a split headlight design, with LED daytime running lights on top, and is available with stylish dynamic indicators, front and rear. These are ones you may have noticed when following an Audi or Jaguar, which use LEDs that light up in sequence - from the inside of the car to the outside - effectively pointing in the direction the car is going to turn. Kudos to Skoda for offering them at such a low price.
The Kamiq Compressed Natural Gas is one of the best cars in the small SUV class. In its standard suspension, only the Volkswagen T-Roc comes close to the Kamiq's bump-riding and bump-minimizing efficiency, or its soothing highway manners. It must be said that the Volkswagen T-Cross is no slouch, and the Ford Puma is firmer but better suited on undulating country roads. Meanwhile, the Nissan Juke is generally more mobile on all surfaces.
This adaptation maintains the gasoline system, adding the possibility of using compressed natural gas as fuel, having a greater autonomy with NGV than with gasoline. There is no reduction in power or notice a slower speed when driving in either gasoline or CNG mode, on the contrary it is a smoother and more fluid driving
The name Kamiq CNG means "something that fits perfectly" in the language of the Inuit of Canada and Greenland, and Skoda says it's because this small SUV fits perfectly in the city. And in many ways, the Kamiq is well suited to the urban hustle and bustle.
The Kamiq is barely higher off the ground than a regular car; so if you're looking for that SUV driving position with height, either for a commanding view of the road or to make getting in and out easier, you'll be disappointed. The Ford Puma, Volkswagen T-Cross and T-Roc get you closer to that proper SUV experience in this class of vehicle.
The Natural Gas Vehicle Kamiq G-Tec is a breath of fresh air in the small SUV class. It's bigger and sleeker inside than the Seat Arona or Volkswagen T-Cross, more comfortable and has some really smart features to help take the stress out of modern family life. Overall, the Kamiq ranks high on the buying decision list among small SUVs.
